Nature and Biodiversity:
Costa Rica is located in Middle America, in the heart of the western hemisphere.
We limit to the west with the Caribbean Sea, to the Easth with the North Pacific Ocean, to the North with Nicaragua and to the South with Panama.
In Costa Rica, there are several active volcanoes (Arenal Volcano, Irazu Volcano, Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and Turrialba Volcano); the country has a relatively long coastline in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as well as a number of rivers and streams that attract specialist kayakers and rafters from all over the world.
The Caribbean coast is 132 miles long while the Pacific coast is 635 miles long. Despite of its size (only 51.000 km2), our country features up to 6% of the World's biodiversity and has 14 microclimate zones and over 25% of its territory is designated as National Parks and protected areas
The country's biodiversity attracts nature lovers from all over the world; its tropical forests contain 1500 tree species, almost 12% of the country is covered by National Parks, other dry, cloud and rainforest reserves and indigenous reservations. Costa Rican national parks and protected areas (more than 25% of the country’s territory) not only provide ecological benefits but also generate different activities in the surroundings
Costa Rica's jungles provide a variety of habitats for the country's fauna including four types of monkeys, sloth, jaguars and tapirs. The primary attraction for many visitors is the 850 recorded bird species, which include the resplendent quetzal, indigo-capped hummingbirds, macaws and toucans. There are also an important variety of dazzling butterflies.

Potrero Beach and Bay: Along Costa Rica’s Golden Coast, Potrero tropical beach offer warm and tranquil waters, ideal to relax amid the peace and quietness, the sunsets here are wonderful
At Potrero village, there is a small harbor from where you can hire a local Tico fisherman or arrange short day trips to the surf hot spots of Witches Rock and Playa Naranjo.
